Vice Resort Police South Aceh Kompol M. Basori, SIK promise to support BPKEL in law enforcement against illegal forestry activities taking place in South Aceh. This statement were made in community consultation in Tapak Tuan, 30 September 2011. The support offered by the police force receive positive respond from BPKEL, local NGO and community leaders.

The district of Aceh Tamiang has multiple Palm Oil plantations and these plantation are in breach of multiple laws. A number of these plantations have admitted their illegalities and have surrended their plantation area back to the Acehnese government for rehabilitation.

BPKEL response to Trumon - Bulohseuma road development proposal

On 23rd of August Committee-level Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) meeting on road development from Trumon to Bulohseuma was held at BAPEDAL. As a member of AMDAL committee, and due to the fact that the proposed road was located within Leuser Ecosystem, BPKEL was invited to attend the meeting. The meeting was led by the head of BAPEDAL Husaini Syamaun, and was attended by Dinas Bina Marga Cipta Karya and PT. Aditya Engineering Consultant as developer, as well as related government institutions, academic experts and government officials.
